Hello class,

Identify the location of your dot on the DiSC map - try to include an image in your post.

The location on the DISC map is on the I, which is more focused on the influence section, which means I am more high-spirited, outgoing, optimistic, and tend to live a non-captive lifestyle.

Describe how the assessment results fit or contradict your perception of your mindset preferences and tendencies.

Answering each question truthfully with an open mind, I am pleased to say it fits my natural way of thinking. I find joy in motivating others around me to be better and tend to lighten the room everywhere I go. Interacting with people is easy for me as I see every person, place, and event as a valuable lesson to learn in life. I like being optimistic, as I do not expect life to be perfect. This mindset approach helps me live a well-balanced, highly energized life free from being bound to whatever life throws at me.

Were you surprised by the Agile EQ mindsets inside or outside your comfort zone?

I was not surprised by the EQ mindset outside my comfort zone because I tend not to be an analytical, forceful, firm individual. Of course, we all have our perspective in life. I think as we get older, maybe this model will drift closer to where my current results are in life. If I were to take this test at a younger age, I think I would have been much more on the D and C of dominance and Conscientiousness approach. I believe this to be true as I had the mindset that I knew it all and was very strong-willed, being very private about my emotions. I was more analytical when trying to figure life out and rarely thought that maybe I needed to be open-minded and look within to change my surroundings. Learning to balance my intention and focus in the world clarified my purpose in life.

Reflect on this week's reading, How Resilience Works by Coutu (2015), and share an example of how you have demonstrated resilience.

I have demonstrated resilience by taking life challenges, similar to the example this article shares on why some parish under pressure while others succeed. I think it's based on perspective and the ability to adapt and develop a strong level of acceptance in life. What changed my life for the better is looking at challenges in life now as opportunities to grow rather than this sucks or why me attitude. Instead, I lean into these moments to learn and not focus on the outcome but rather on the present moment in life. I learned later in life that all the challenges were preparing me to help influence others through experience and empathy. How else better to relate to other's real struggles and hardships in life if you haven't been through it yourself?

Explain how this example relates to your DiSC results.

This example relates to my DiSC results because I have changed my emotional intelligence to reflect inward rather than outward first. Through experience and self-reflection, we can learn a lot about our perspectives. Having a family, being married, growing from a boy to a man, and being responsible in life for my shortfalls and acceptances helped me navigate through life more easily. The universe gives us exactly what we are in life, not what we want.
